“On-Line Course with Lee Jenkins”

For three part on-line LtoJ® course with Lee Jenkins click on www.kdsi.org.  An actual LtoJ® seminar was filmed live and then edited for a course complete with credit.  After opening up the KDSI site, navigate to the bottom of the web page to “search” and type in Lee Jenkins.  The three courses will then appear on the screen.  One use of the on-line course is to assist teachers new to a school or school district/division that has participated in prior LtoJ® seminars.

One-day:
The one day seminar is an abbreviated two-day seminar teaching the basics of the From LtoJ® process with limited time for practice and application. This format is designed for administrators and teacher-leaders determining if they want to From LtoJ® to become a significant focus in their district.

Two-day:
The two-day seminar is the most common From LtoJ® experience. The outline is:

High Standards: High Success Rates – We can have both at the same time.

The Root Causes of Educational Frustration - the built-in barriers to having both high standards and high success rates. (1/2 day)

The Solutions with Practice and Application - the details of the From LtoJ® process with classroom, grade-level/department, school and district applications. (1 ½ days).

Three-day:
This seminar is for mathematics teachers. It is the two-day seminar with many provocative mathematics activities interspersed. The mathematics activities are K-8, not high school. However, high school teachers find them useful because their difficulties are in teaching remedial mathematics much more than grade-level math.

How to lead learning in the classroom, school and school district. The proper use of data is emphasized. Many data strategies begin at the district level and work their way to the classroom over time. From LtoJ® begins in the classroom and works its way to the school and district.
